When do I need to replace my denture?

Although a quality set of dentures is designed to last a long time, they can get worn and fragile with time. If you’ve had your dentures for more than ten years, they’ll most likely need to be checked and replaced.
Dentures typically have a lifespan of five to ten years, and while your denture may appear to be unchanged, our mouths and jaws do change over time, often causing the gums and mouth tissue to shrink.
Here are a few indicators that it’s time for new dentures:
  • Your dentures are loose or falling out.
  • You’re having trouble speaking clearly.
  • Your dentures are causing discomfort or harm to your gum tissue.
  • Your dentures have become damaged or discoloured.
  • Having difficulty eating with your dentures.
  • Your mouth’s corners are sore and cracked.

If you’re having any of these conditions, please call us on 0800 669 000 or schedule a free consultation visit to get your dentures evaluated and prevent any more harm to your gum tissue and health.
